I think there's a forum rule against begging, no? |

Dracvlad wrote:This was my third attempt at Hub Zero with Aaron, and while I may have another go at the concept as laid out here by myself this is the last time with Aaron and in this area. I thought Aaron had matured a bit so this would not be an abject failure, but a glorious one, but abject is what Aaron does, he is incapable of working with other leadership types, he talks over others, takes FC over others and contradicts them publicly and behind their back, yet gets upset with you if you argue back, he expects respect in spite of treating people like that and does not realise that in a game like Eve full of ego's that you have to earn that respect, and more importantly keep that respect alive.
When I resigned from leadership it was because of the reasons I laid out before, in terms of waning interest in Eve, and my timezone being out of sync with the majority, however another part of it I did not tell at the time, it was because Aaron pushed his vision of mutualisation behind my back with others when I said no to him and asked him to hold off until we had more people, I thought I would put him into the hot seat and then I expected him to fail as he has, but I did not expect him to go back to the same level of behavior that wrecked the very first Hub Zero and the version that I was involved in when I first came to 0.0 in March 2010. The resulting drama is as far as I am concerned impossible to repair and I am not really in the mood to try, as I was saying I was hoping for glorious failure and while I expected there still to be issues with Aaron which makes it a fun roller-coaster ride, I did not think that he had not moved on at all, that he had not learnt anything from before.
Finally Aaron has lied to me before, mostly due to a lack of honesty with himself, but to agree to do something then wait ten minutes after I log and then break that agreement is just amazing.
Of course this meltdown is not just Aaron, all it needs is someone to push the right buttons, and Aaron was played extremely well by another player, however his nemesis made a sentence that encapsulates the issue with Aaron "to be a leader you need to be able to follow." Aaron is unable to follow anyone else.
Finally! After 8 months of herp, this thread delivers! |

I'm SO happy that you have all decided collectively to get back to the one thing that Hub Zero was ever truly good for: Creating wonderful forum drama!
On a personal level, it's very gratifying that Dracvlad has FINALLY come to the exact same conclusion that I (and quite a few others) reached 4 years ago after spending a day or two around Aaron. His description of Aaron is spot on. I guess some people are slow learners but better late than never!
And FWIW I don't dislike Aaron personally. He's quite a character. But FOLLOW his 'leadership'? Surely you jest. He'd be a good guy to have around in a mid-level leadership spot as kind of the village idiot or the class clown, but to actually be THE guy in charge? Ummm, no. |

I think you owe Aaron an apology, Dracvlad. I mean, getting this one wrong and all.
I feel for ya, Tev. But you've got to remember that Aaron has been playing the game for 11 years! And his PVP record speaks for itself! You should probably apologize to Aaron too.

Aaron wrote:And why are people talking like this is over? Did you read a post with me declaring it was over? I will still be here helping the people that want an adventure.
What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! And it ain't over now! |

Aaron was a more noteworthy fellow when it was him, all alone, refusing to budge from his beloved home, UF-KKH. He was still a tragic figure but there was something admirable about his ferocious tenacity.
If he'd recognize his own limitations and realize that he is NOT a natural leader or a good PVP'er or someone who remains calm under pressure, or a clear and incisive thinker, this 2nd iteration might have been more successful than the first.
Unfortunately, he lures people down under the false pretense that 'nobody's in charge' and that 'we'll all just be blue to each other' and then when people naturally gravitate to other people, who actually DO have leadership ability, he gets jealous and resentful and starts trying to claim a throne that isn't his (or anyone's) to take.
What happened this time is almost exactly what happened the last time. Plus +ša change ... |

Fitting rigs to a ship is no longer dependent on skills.
You're welcome.
